We recently had the pleasure of working with bricks on 3 of our projects. Here are a few things we have learned along the way:

Reclaimed brick is the look that people are really after these days, but guess what?? That old brick is expensive! This is due to the reclaimed brick being harder to source and install because of the leftover mortar and debris attached.

In two of our projects, we used a whitewash to give the new bricks an aged look without the massive price tag.

Brick patterns matter. There is the more modern stacked or the classic herringbone. The patterns bring a look with them, so select accordingly! Some patterns to consider are borders, basket weave, herringbone, stacked, or stitched.

Whichever pattern you end up using, we recommend mocking up a sample with your contractor to see a small portion of the layout before finalizing your choice.
