Water Catchment Tips

WINTER STORMS 

Reflecting on the Winter storms and all of the ways we can support water catchment.

Here are some tips:

-Turn off your irrigation system: after a heavy soaking, there is no need to turn on your irrigation system. The ground is thoroughly saturated, and you can rest assured your plants will be happy for at least 1-2+ weeks

-Consider swales as a part of the landscape: Swales are like mini creeks that slow water’s flow down and encourage it to drain into the landscape as opposed to running off into the street and into storm drains.
