South El Monte Farm “Corazon Garden”
A collaboration with Studio Moonya and CultivaLA, the South El Monte Farm is a community project that creates a central hub for the 5-acre farm. The Corazon garden creates a central space for participants to gather, a dynamic place to spend time with family and community, and an accessible space to experience a smorgasbord of sounds, flavors, scents, sights, and textures.
This project includes a native garden, fruit trees, outdoor gathering, and community hub made up of shipping containers designed around hugel mounds, native and medicinal plants, and shade sails hung from beautiful, reclaimed redwood.
This project was made possible by many people working together, especially the hard work of Cultiva LA’s Jose Miguel. Donations by Hahamongna Nursery, Devil Mountain Nursery, Bay Area Redwood, and built by All American Landscape.
