Pico-Union Community Garden ‘Gather’
A community garden created alongside the ever-inspiring Cultiva LA and Studio Moonya. This garden tells the story of a space that, through Cultiva LA's determination and leadership, came back to life after a period of closure and neglect. When Nectar learned about the opportunity to help redesign and bring this important community fixture back to life, we were thrilled to collaborate with the team to make it happen.
Alongside Studio Moonya we re-envisioned the space to include Vego Bed garden boxes, recycled cement (urbanite) planters, new trees, a container office/store, and flexible spaces for events and large gatherings.
Seeing the community space filled with neighbors growing herbs, veggies, and fruits; tending the plants and trees; and working together to keep the space in order is a real treat. We look forward to seeing things continue to thrive and grow in the hands of its members.
